Basler's Embedded Vision Kits

Our Embedded Vision Kits provide developers with all the modular components they need to evaluate Basler dart cameras, the platform and their various interface technologies (USB 3.0 or BCON for MIPI or BCON for LVDS). The result: an easier process for designing them into your embedded vision systems.

There are three Embedded Vision Kits available: a plug and play evaluation kit with a dart USB camera module and development kits comprising dart camera modules with a BCON for LVDS or BCON for MIPI interface and a matching processing board. The kits contain not just the camera module but also accessories such as lens and cable and the pylon Camera Software Suite SDK.

Connecting an LVDS-based module can be complex and time-consuming. Our BCON for LVDS Development Kit smooths the path for you, including sample hardware and software implementations for the dart via BCON for LVDS interface and a compatible processing board based on the Xilinx Zynq®-7000 SoC. This allows you to familiarize yourself not just with the technical opportunities and characteristics of the BCON for LVDS interface, but also provides you with a reference implementation of the image capture algorithm and a clear set of documentation for the interface. You can adapt principles from the sample code or use it in its entirety to integrate the camera module simply into your application, saving time and money in your own product development.

Easy integration for MIPI-based applications – dart BCON for MIPI Development Kit

 

With the dart BCON for MIPI, Basler combines the MIPI CSI-2 interface – which is prevalent in the embedded world – with the standards of the machine vision world. The dart BCON for MIPI Development Kit consists of a dart camera module with BCON for MIPI interface and a developer board equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. You get a sample set-up with installed BSP, driver package for Linux (Linaro) and the industry-tested pylon Camera Software Suite. As a result, the development kit offers the same convenience and same API during the activation as any non-embedded camera interface (e.g., USB 3.0, GigE).
